Diabolic Studios has released the first beta release of the Dragonia II mod today.
In this first release, there have been many units buildings, wonders, and more added to Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword to create a rich fantasy environment. Dragonia II has 25 civilizations and 40 leaders to choose from. These civilzations range from the evil Black Orcs to the high elves of Kalagori and the religious Kingdom of Paladorn. The leaders of these civilizations have been given alignments ranging from good to neutral to evil. These aligments will be dynamic, and so can change over time based on choices that the player makes. The leader's alignment will also have an effect on their relationship with other leaders...and so an evilly aligned leader will not be very friendly to a good aligned leader.
Dragonia II also features an updated tech tree featuring about 115 technologies. Most of these advances will be familiar to players of the first Dragonia, but some of the old advances have been removed, and others added. This revised tree gives the player access to the new faiths of Dragonia (Tel'Seldarine, Dark Seldarine, Solanism, Nerullicism, Morndinsamman, Eye of Gruumsh, Heironeanism, and Hextorianism) powerful magics, and strong troops.
The Dragonia II mod is now available for download at Moddb, as well as from Gameflood. This release is an early beta version of the mod, and as such, not all features have been completed, and there will be bugs. Please feel free to contact the Dragonia II modding team at http://www.civfanatics.comto provide feedback and bug reports.

Time for another monthly update.
In the last month, I have had Rick Rockett join the team as a coder. Also assisting the team is Hexagonian doing some artwork, and woodelf creating some buildings.
There has been much progress this month with all the extra assistance:
A basic spell system has been put into place.
Many of the religious buildings have been completed and are now awaiting implementation.
The civilization flags have now been completed.
Hexagonian has created a new title screen and is now working on new artwork for the leaderheads.
Civilzation history continues to be written.
The new tech tree has been created an implemented. Next for the tech tree are the details and graphics.
New units and unit graphics have been added.
Work has begun on implementing various city sets
If all goes well, I should be able to have an early beta available sometime in November.

Its been awhile since an update, so...
I got my copy of BTS this month. Work has restarted on Dragonia 2, this time using BTS. I have decided not to directly use the FFH2 code base. Instead, I will be creating a new codebase for the Dragonia mod, using some of the code changes in FFH2, as well as other modifications.
All the new civilizations are now created, and the new leaders have been created as well. I have added 2 more of the leaders to the Dragonia II Factions and Leaders page. Next is to update the leader traits and some minor modifications.
Also created this week are new icons for each of the religions. You can view the icons on the Dragonia II Religions page.
If anyone is interested, I can still use more team members for graphics, coding, and general modding. Contact me if you are interested.

I would like to announce that I am continuing some work on the Dragonia I mod once more. I have also added a member to the Dragonia team, Dan Winsky. Dan will be working as a story writer for the mod to provide a more complete civopedia and to develop a more comprehensive back end story.
I have also started work on an online civilopedia for the mod. The online civilopedia will provide all the information of the ingame civilopedia. It will feature entries both for Dragonia I and for Dragonia II.
